Kenny Chesney never fails to put me on my feels. If I hear…
“Don’t Blink”– It hits me how fast time is flying.
“Summertime”– I think of the good ole’ summer daze thatare now long gone.
“The Boys Of Fall”- I think of my high school days on the volleyball court with Friday nights spent cheering on my boys of fall.
“Anything But Mine”– Every emotion of love just hits me like a brick wall.
“Where I Grew Up”– This song sums up life. I think of all the times that tested me while growing up that led me to where I am now.
You get the point, Chesney just knows how to make you feel.
Then there’s his song, “Keg In The Closet” which just reminds me of the life I’m currently living in college. Everything he talks about from spring break in Panama, going to class just to pass the time, pizza next to you on the floor when you wake up, the keg in the closet, and the complete and utter confusion and uncertainty of our futures. No matter how uncertain we might be, we’re doin’ just fine because “we have all we ever wanted and a keg in the closet.”
Here’s to the memories we are making now. Let’s hold on to them tight and make the most of the time we have left. It hurts my heart to think of the time when we all go our separate ways and take on the “real world.” Until then, let’s do what we do best and go finish the damn keg like champs.
(Shout out Purdue Kappa Kappa Gamma PC14- let’s finish this thing right.)
