Founder and CEO of Whiskey Riff, Whiskey Riff Shop and RIFF Outdoors
Steve is a 16+ year entrepreneur with experience in media and brand building focused on music, outdoors, sports, culture, online retail, design, podcasting, social media, and strategic brand partnerships. He graduated from DePaul University in 2011 and shortly after the idea for country music's largest brand was born. Steve now calls the Colorado mountains home and has always been incredibly passionate about cooking, the outdoors, and authentic country music. Oh yeah, if you don't like dogs or Alan Jackson, he doesn't like you.
Co-Founder of Whiskey Riff and Editor-In-Chief
Wes is a co-founder and the current Editor-In-Chief at Whiskey Riff. He graduated from DePaul University in 2011 and dropped out of law school in 2015 to focus on Whiskey Riff full time. Covering all things country music, outdoors, sports and culture, Wes has penned over 5,000 blogs, co-hosted hundreds of Whiskey Riff Raff podcast episodes, as well as tackled merch design and e-commerce, brand partnerships, live events and more. He's an avid fisherman, an amateur guitar player and a big Busch Light guy.
General Counsel and Assistant Editor
Aaron has been writing for Whiskey Riff since 2018, and now serves as general counsel and assistant editor. A graduate of Marshall University and Tulane Law School, Aaron moved to Nashville because of his passion for country music, and now spends his time going to concerts, being let down by his sports teams and avoiding Broadway.
Writer & Podcast Coordinator
Casey is a writer at Whiskey Riff who loves all things music, especially country music history. She is also the podcast coordinator, and graduated from Appalachian State University having never lost a tailgate. She's a (usually) sad football fan who loves the Carolina Panthers, and it’s possible that she wrote-in Dolly Parton for President. Sad country songs make her so incredibly happy.
Finance Manager & Writer
Along with being a lifelong writer and musician, Andrew has been managing corporate financials since graduating Bloomsburg University in 2018. He's an enthusiast of country music, business, fishing, fitness, jiu jitsu, history, and reading (especially Hemingway and Bukowski). His previous work as a bartender, Chipotle cook, and warehouse laborer laid the groundwork to excel in his current roles of Finance Manager, Writer, and Outdoors Sales/Partnerships at Whiskey Riff. To sum it up, Andrew likes clean Excel spreadsheets and songs that make you cry. Have a story or any commentary? Send it to him at [email protected]
Operations Manager & Podcast Host
Shelby is a Business Administration graduate with a passion for all things country music and culture. As Operations Manager at Whiskey Riff, she wears many hats, managing social media, sales, partnerships, playlists, and co-hosting the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast. Career highlights include interviewing Brooks & Dunn, and her love for Flatland Cavalry runs so deep, she has the tattoo to prove it.
Podcast
Writer
Hill joined the Whiskey Riff team in 2020 as a contributing writer with hopes of using the platform to draw attention to the incredible music out there that goes overlooked by mainstream music media and country radio. Covering everything from new releases and up-and-coming artists to feature interviews with established acts, Hill is always on the lookout for new music and an opportunity to share the music he loves with anyone who will pay attention. A proponent of the notion that the best way to support your favorite artists is going to see them live, Hill frequents music venues across North Carolina and elsewhere any time he gets the chance.
Writer & Marketing Coordinator
Mary Claire serves as Marketing Coordinator and writer at Whiskey Riff. A proud Oklahoma State University alum, she grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, but swapped Music City for the red dirt scene. When she's not covering the latest country music news or helping drive Whiskey Riff's social media initiatives, you’ll find her riding her horse, indulging in reality TV marathons, or hunting for the best dive bars and hot dogs in town. A true music enthusiast, Mary Claire is never far from a Chris Stapleton or Dolly Parton playlist.
Writer & Podcast Host
Quinn has over 5 years of writing experience with a primary focus on country music, sports, outdoors, and culture. He graduated with his Masters Degree from Murray State University in 2022 (Go Racers!), and when he’s not co-hosting the 'Whiskey Riff Raff' podcast, he’s usually consuming an inordinate amount of sports, spending time with friends and family, or listening to “Hello Walls” by Willie Nelson on repeat.
