With apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, Farmers Only, and more making it easier than ever to meet somebody, why does it still feel so complicated.
For one North Carolina man, that answer was simple… the competition.
“The biggest problem with the other apps is that my face is not featured prominently,” he tells WFMY. “If life gives you lemons, you should first make lemonade. Then make sure no other companies can produce or distribute their own soft drinks. So the only game in town is lemonade.”
So he made a new dating app where every profile is his own. Women can join the app, but every profile they swipe through will feature one man, inventor Aaron Smith.
He even made a commercial.
Unfortunately for Aaron, he’s not exactly seeing the success that he was hoping for.
“No, well other than like my mom who calls me. No,” says Smith of his success.
I mean it’s just a numbers game isn’t it? Casting a wide net, the shotgun approach, call it what you want, but if he’s the only option, it’s just a matter of time before somebody swipes right on him and the rest is history.
Kind of brings a whole new meaning to the phrase, “may the odds be ever in your favor” doesn’t it?
