Luke Combs Performs Soulful Cover Of The Gnarls Barkley Hit, “Crazy”

I was never a big Gnarls Barkley guy, not a big Cee-Lo Green guy, it just never did it for me.

“Fuck You,” “Crazy,” any of the other ones that I can’t remember… not my cup of tea.

But Luke Combs got back on the ol’ live-stream last night, and while the highlight of the night was obviously his brand new “Six Feet Apart,” he delivered one helluva cover of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy.”

And it might just be the best I’ve ever heard.

“I messed around with this for a really long time… some of you who, if you’ve been to shows a long time ago you may have heard me soundcheck with this… This is a cover of a Gnarls Barkley song called “Crazy,” you guys have probably heard it before. There’s a guy named Ray LaMontagne, I don’t know if you’ve heard of him, he does a cover of it and I guess this probably closer to his version than it is to Gnarls Barkley’s version, but I hope you like it.”

And Luke brought the SOUL. So much so, that he snapped a guitar string in the process.

Enjoy.

And if you missed it, here’s Luke’s brand new song about being stuck in quarantine, “Six Feet Apart.”
