We have our answer.

Over the weekend, Amazon Prime Video was livestreaming the annual Stagecoach Festival from Indio, California, and Morgan Wallen fans were looking forward to watching his headlining performance on Sunday.

But unfortunately, when the lineup for the stream was released, Morgan was conspicuously absent.

Naturally, theories began to fly about why Morgan was left off the lineup, and fans took to social media to express their displeasure with Amazon:

It definitely seemed odd that Morgan was the only headliner whose performance wasn’t livestreamed. But it turns out, it didn’t have anything to do with Amazon.

A representative for Morgan reached out after we reported on the outcry, and confirmed that it’s because of something else the country superstar has up his sleeve and giving us permission to share the statement:

“Morgan Wallen has a special project in the works for his fans that precludes him from participating in livestreams at this time.”

Well now I’m curious to see what he’s working on next…

It’s a bummer that Morgan wasn’t able to livestream his headlining set, which included some pretty cool moments like the debut performance of his unreleased duet with Post Malone, “I Had Some Help.”

And he was also joined by his friend and business partner Eric Church to perform their chart-topping duet, “Man Made A Bar.”
