A promising Yellowstone update.

Over the past week, news broke that actors like Luke Grimes and Cole Hauser had noted that they were set to start filming the second half of season five and the series finale of the hit Western show.

My intention is to make sure we finish ‘Yellowstone’ strong, you know. I start in about 3 weeks. I just want to make sure that Taylor, Kelly, Luke, Wes, myself, everybody that has been a part of this show that we just end it.”

Cole Hauser told Whiskey Riff and Luke Grimes noted that he was getting scripts very soon.

Now, Ian Bohen, who plays Ryan, is supporting Hauser’s statement that he wants to finish Yellowstone strong. During a sit down with Entertainment Tonight during the show’s pop-up at Stagecoach, Bohen told the news outlet that fans should expect a stellar conclusion to the show.

“The fans are going to get the [best] conclusion that could possibly be written. Everything will land in a way that is perfectly set. A lot of shows just kind of finish… and they don’t satisfy you. This will be completed in a way that it will make sense.”

While this seems like a big promise, given the fans wait for the second half of the season to conclude, I bet Sheridan is making sure that all loose ends are tied up.

“I don’t know that any show has finished this strongly ever. We’re expecting to have the best series finale in history. Overconfident maybe, but I think that’s what it’s going to be. We thank everyone for their patience… It’ll be worth the wait, I promise.”

The show’s co-stars have all embodied the Western way of life outside of the show now, with Hauser having started his own coffee company, Free Rein, and Grimes launching his country music career.

Everyone knows that this show has been a cultural phenomenon, and the actors involved want to ensure their “family” delivers the strongest final performance.

While I hope that all of this is true, I can’t help but wonder if Costner will be set to make a return.

After grumblings of him potentially thinking about coming back, without his return that is one plot hole that will leave fans wondering what happened with John Dutton…or Taylor Sheridan will use his creative mastermind to spin his farewell flawlessly into the script.

The second half of season five is slated for a November 2024 air date. Let the countdown begin.
