Sea Lion Hops On Woman’s Boat To Escape Hungry Pod Of Killer Whales: “I Don’t Know What To Do”

This lady is lucky those orcas didn’t just straight up destroy her boat.

One of the most unexpected trends this summer has been the number of incidents where orcas have targeted boats in a tactical, and terrifying, fashion.

Many of these attacks happened off the coast of Spain and researchers believe one dominate female was able to teach others where to bite these floating vessels after she got injured by a propeller, but that theory has yet to be proven and some scientists believe they are just playing around.

But it’s not just boats we’ve seen as the victim to these creatures aptly nicknamed “Killer Whales.” This pod of dolphins got decimated by some orcas and another smacked a sea lion 20 feet in the air.

Well, a new video has gone viral which shows a potentially very dangerous situation featuring both a boat and a sea lion.

Unfortunately, there’s not much detail on where this takes place (although my guess is Canada), but a woman was out on her boat when out of nowhere a sea lion climbed on board.

At first, she’s very confused and tries to run the animal back into the water, but it soon becomes clear just why it left the sea.

In a matter of moments, the boat is surrounded by hungry orcas and they are clearly trying to figure out just where this sea lion went. They circle the boat repeatedly, blowing water out of their spout, and breaching the surface trying to locate their next meal.

Naturally, the woman is quite terrified and doesn’t know what to do, in danger from both the fleeing sea lion and the massive boat smashers just feet from the hull.

“No, no, no, no… You’ve got to go! You’ve got to go, get off the boat. Come on, get in the water, or get, or… Oh my God… I don’t know what to do.”

My heart is racing just watching this, I can’t imagine what being in that moment would have been like.

The video ends before any resolution is reached, most likely due to the woman putting the camera down, but if I had to guess those orcas waited for the sea lion to hop back into the water and it was all she wrote for that poor guy.

You just never know what’s going to happen during a day on the water.
