I just got my advanced copy of Dillon Carmichael’s debut album Hell On An Angel, and I’ll tell you right now, there are few albums I’m more pumped about right now.
Carmichael will be making his Opry Debut this coming Tuesday, but before he steps into that iconic circle, the 24-year-old will be sending his debut radio single “Dancing Away With My Heart” to the country airwaves. At the direction of super-producer Dave Cobb, who has produced for heavy hitters like Sturgill, Isbell, and Stapleton, Dillon details how he reworked this song into the single that you’re hearing now.
“I originally wrote it as a break up song and when Dave Cobb and I were picking out songs for the record, Dave heard ‘Dancing Away With my Heart’ and thought that the melody of the song felt more like a love song. After Dave and I agreed that it would be a better love song I went into the corner of the studio and starting rewriting the lyrics for hours. It took a couple of days but it was meant to be a love song. And I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out.”
Hell On An Angel is set to drop October 26th, click here to pre-order.
