JJ McCarthy is heading to Minnesota.
The Michigan Wolverines quarterback was officially drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with the 10th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after the Vikings traded up with the Jets to get their guy.
It remains to be seen whether McCarthy’s stellar college career will translate to the NFL, though his Michigan coach (and new coach of the Chargers) Jim Harbaugh definitely had high praise for the star QB’s potential.
But enough about that. We’re here to talk about JJ’s dad, Jim McCarthy – and remind you about the time that he got caught in 4k.
If you remember back to 2023, the senior McCarthy went viral after appearing to touch his son’s girlfriend’s butt during the Wolverines’ game against TCU at the Fiesta Bowl.
The internet went wild at the sight of Jim McCarthy apparently copping a feel of JJ’s girlfriend as they celebrated. And as McCarthy came off the board last night, there were plenty of jokes about his dad too – more specifically, about his mom taking her place between dad and now-fianceé Katya Kuropas.
And it seems like every time dad is on camera these days, people are keeping a close eye on his hands – like during this year’s national championship game.
