George Strait Number Ones: Elite Eight Voting Is LIVE

We’ve got our Elite Eight.

After three rounds of voting, we’ve got it narrowed down to your favorite eight George Strait number ones – and then some.

This was by far the closest round we’ve had, with half of the matchups being decided by less than 2%.

In fact, the only matchup that wasn’t particularly close was “Troubadour” beating “Give It All We Got Tonight” with an incredible 85% of the vote. And “Troubadour” was one of our play-in songs that wasn’t even a number one for King George.

Actually there are TWO of the eight remaining songs that weren’t number ones: “Amarillo By Morning” (a favorite to win) is also moving on after taking out “You Look So Good In Love.”

The closest matchup of the day came between “Run” and “Give It Away,” with “Run” managing to take the W by (quite literally) a handful of votes.

Unfortunately, this round also means the exit for some monster songs, like “Check Yes Or No” (which lost to “I Can Still Make Cheyenne” by about 1%) and “The Cowboy Rides Away,” another one of our not-number-ones that had a Cinderella run in the tournament.

So now we’re getting down to the wire – and the matchups are getting even harder.

I mean, “Ocean Front Property” vs. “Amarillo By Morning?” And “I Can Still Make Cheyenne” vs. “Carrying Your Love With Me?”

All I’m saying is I’m glad I don’t have to pick the winners.

So with that, let’s get to voting. You know the drill by now: Vote as many times as you want between now and 11:59 PM central time on Tuesday, and then come back Wednesday to see the Final Four matchups.

Every vote counts, so if your favorite is still on the board, it might not be a bad idea to throw them a couple extra votes.

Because this round is going to be TIGHT.
