Zach Bryan singing Trampled by Turtles is the cover I never knew I needed.
He recently posted a video of him singing the song “Wait So Long” from their from the 2010 record Palomino on Twitter, and it’s awesome. In typical Zach fashion, he packed up his guitar and trekked out to the woods to film the video with a friend in the most raw form possible.
Though Trampled by Turtles, a bluegrass band from Minnesota, hasn’t released anything new together since 2018, it’s cool to see Zach shining a light on some great music a lot of people probably don’t know about (and I’m confident in saying this, because a lot of the comments on this post thought this was Zach’s original song).
I’m not sure if this means we’ll be seeing this cover on the tracklist for his next album, but I wouldn’t be mad about it. Though he hasn’t officially released any details about when said record is coming, he did previously hint that he would have something this year.
Obviously, he’s pretty busy between his full-time service in the US Navy, preparing for his shot at the NFL soon, and a huge concert with Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey this Friday.
He has been teasing us with some new music recently, though, so we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out.
