After Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey announced over the weekend that country singer and active-duty member of the US Navy Zach Bryan is joining the board of directors for his foundation, they’re now officially teaming up for a benefit concert in Charlotte, North Carolina.
To say I’m ecstatic for this would be a complete and total understatement. The show will be held at the Fillmore on July 2nd.
Christian announced it on Instagram, saying the concert will raise money for active duty and reserve members of the military who deal with PTSD as a result of their service:
“I’m excited to announce that my good friend and talented musician Zach Bryan and I will hold a 22 and Troops Benefit Concert on July 2nd at the Fillmore in Charlotte!
All proceeds from the concert will go directly to 22 and Troops, which has partnered with REBOOT Recovery, focusing on a 360 degree approach to help active duty military and veterans who are fighting the battle to overcome trauma and PTSD.
Let’s all come together and help make a difference for those who have served us. “
Christian also put out an official video as part of the post in promotion of the concert, featuring Zach’s song “Revival” (from his 2020 album Elisabeth) as he played along on the piano:
I love seeing these two team-up, and I’m sure this is just the beginning of all the good work they’ll do together.
I already feel like this might be the coolest concert I’ve ever been to, and it couldn’t be in support of a better cause. Christian on the keys and Zach playing some of his best songs? You can’t dream it up any better than that.
And who knows, maybe Christian will surprise us with some stellar vocals, too…
Tickets are already on sale. If you’re anywhere around the North Carolina area, you do NOT wanna miss this one.
