‘American Idol’ Finalist Chayce Beckham Impresses With Performance Of Zac Brown Band’s “Colder Weather”

I dig this dude.

I don’t really watch American Idol. To be honest, I pretty much hate all of the reality TV talent shows like it, but every so often I check in to see who might be coming up in the country music world.

And I have to say, I like what this guy is doing.

Chayce Beckham initially peaked my interest during the auditions, where he performed a song by Kolton Moore, but he would later go on to perform a cover of Tyler Childers’ “Hard Times,” as well as Chris Stapleton’s “You Should Probably Leave.”

And now, standing in the Top 3, he has a legitimate shot at winning the show.

During last night’s performances, in addition to a new original and another Chris Stapleton cover, Chayce broke out a rendition of Zac Brown’s “Colder Weather.” Released in 2010, it was the second single from their sophomore studio album, Get What You Give.

And for my money, it just might be the best song Zac Brown has ever released.
