I just love everything about this song.
Carly Pearce’s current single at country radio “What He Didn’t Do” has been steadily climbing the charts, and it’s inching closer and closer to breaking the Top 10 by the week.
And hopefully, that continues, because this is a truly great country song that deserves to be heard.
Written by Carly, Ashley Gorley and Emily Shackelton, she mentions that, while we won’t learn all the nitty-gritty details of what exactly happened in her divorce, it all boils down to the fact that, in the end, “it wasn’t what he did, no, it was what he didn’t do.”
I think that about says it all…
Her whole 2021 29: Written In Stone album is full of some great “divorce songs,” which Carly has previously noted was very intentional, and this is one of the best.
