As if I couldn’t love this song more…
Carly Pearce released a stunning acoustic version of her current single at country radio “What He Didn’t Do.”
Written by Carly, Ashley Gorley and Emily Shackelton, she mentions that, while we won’t learn all the nitty-gritty details of what exactly happened in her divorce from Michael Ray, it all boils down to the fact that, in the end, “it wasn’t what he did, no, it was what he didn’t do.”
I think that about says it all…
Her whole 2021 29: Written In Stone album is full of some great “divorce songs,” which Carly has previously noted was very intentional, and this is one of the best.
And of course, for me, acoustic versions of any song are just undefeated, and Carly’s vocals sound absolutely perfect here.
