Yellowstone co-creator/director Taylor Sheridan recently signed a HUGE deal with ViacomCBS to create a ton of new series, and the first one they’re going to be starting with is the Yellowstone prequel, Y: 1883.
Set to premiere later this year, Y: 1883 picks up the Dutton family story from the very beginning and chronicles their journey across the Great Plains in search of a better future in the American West, eventually settling in Montana.
“Taylor Sheridan is a visionary creative whose work has reinvented genres and amassed fan bases around the globe; we are thrilled he calls ViacomCBS and MTV Entertainment his home,” said Chris McCarthy, president of MTV Entertainment. “We couldn’t be more excited to build upon our partnership with him, expand the Yellowstone universe and showcase Taylor’s boundless talent across all of our brands and platforms.”
“I am excited to continue the story of Yellowstone and thank you to Chris, Keith and David for allowing me to keep on expanding the family for the fans,” added Sheridan.
The teaser below is set to air during the Super Bowl.
Season 4 of Yellowstone is already done filming, and should be airing sometime in early half of this year.
Get excited.
