MADNESS IN MARCH.

The 14-seed Oakland Golden Grizzlies, led by widow-peaked-sharp-shooter Jack Gohlke, just took down the 3-seed Kentucky Wildcats in a stunning down-to-the-wire win. If there were any perfect brackets left before this game, they surely got busted with this upset. The Golden Grizzlies won the game 80 to 76 over the literal blue blood Kentucky Wildcats.

Obviously it was a team effort, but the story of the game was undoubtedly Oakland’s March Madness legend in the making: Jack Gohlke. He seemingly came out of nowhere, as players often do during the NCAA Tournament, and absolutely lit up UK’s defense with 10 three pointers, one shy of the NCAA tourney record.

Shooting the deep ball has sort of been his thing all season long:

College basketball fans couldn’t get enough of the 3-point specialist, sending out a flurry of memes and jokes in honor of the Gohlke’s performance as it was happening. He and the Golden Grizzlies will forever go down as NCAA Tournament darlings following this unbelievable showing.

And as for the Kentucky Wildcats, it was yet another early exit in the NCAA tournament. For all the success that John Calipari and UK have had, they’ve only managed to win one March Madness game in the past four years. Kentucky also lost in the first round of the SEC tournament this season… so Wildcat fans might be re-thinking that lifetime contract the school gave Coach Cal.

Though the buzzer sounded and made the upset official, March Madness fans still couldn’t believe that the Oakland Golden Grizzlies pulled it off. Oh, and they also made some jokes at UK’s expense:
