Carly Pearce has a new album on the way.

The Kentucky native just announced hummingbird, her fourth studio album and the follow up to her incredible 2021 29: Written in Stone, will be out everywhere on June 14th.

In a post on Instagram, she shared that the project was inspired by her last few years of “loss and growth, of healing and happiness.” She added that these 14 songs are a product of her newfound confidence in learning that she deserves to be happy and go after what she wants:

“The last few years have been a season of loss and growth, of healing and happiness. A belief that if I did the inner work, I would rebuild myself stronger than I was before, and a knowing that I have done some living and will always be unapologetic about it.

These 14 songs incapsulate my confidence that there is light on the other side of darkness and my true love of country music. When you hear this album — Wherever you are on your journey, I hope it shows you that pain can be a lesson that shows you just how strong you are and what you truly deserve.

That we can all find the “hummingbird” in the midst of whatever we’re going through. ‘hummingbird’ the title track out now. Album out 6/14.”

It’s been three years since the Kentucky native released her aforementioned album 29, which quickly became a fan-favorite and received a lot of critical praise alike. It put Carly at the forefront of mainstream country (for good reason), and I’m really looking forward to hearing this album soon:

The title track she released today was written by Carly along with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, features a gorgeous production full of fiddle and dobro that finds her reflecting on the symbolic nature of a hummingbird and how it represents the difficulty, and importance, of saying goodbye:

“Ooh, when the rain gets poured
The river don’t run to an old love’s door
Ooh, and the train don’t stop
‘Cause the tracks get tired of the way it talks
Sun don’t burn down the whole damn sky
Just ’cause the moon ain’t on its side
Ooh, and the hummingbird flies on by ’cause it hates goodbyе
And so do I”

Carly made a huge statement with her most recent studio record, and this one is already shaping up to be a solid project with pre-released singles like “heels over head” (still my personal favorite), “country music made me do it” and “we don’t fight anymore” featuring Chris Stapleton, which are all included on the hummingbird tracklist.

Blending a traditional country sound and honest, authentic lyricism to create a lane that is all her own, Carly is certainly one to watch in the genre and is poised to release one of the best albums of the year with this new project.

Mark your calendars, people… you need to have hummingbird on your radar.
