Country singer Russell Dickerson took what looked to be a pretty hard fall over the weekend when he tumbled off stage during a show at Mansfield Speedway in Ohio.
Dickerson, who had hits with “Yours” and “Blue Tacoma” back in the late 2010s, has had a resurgence lately thanks to his viral TikTok hit “Happen To Me” – along with his viral dance moves.

Well he’s currently on his RUSSELLMANIA tour, and over the weekend Dickerson was in Ohio for a show at Mansfield Speedway. And just a couple songs into the show, he ended up getting much closer to the crowd than he had planned.
Dickerson was in the middle of performing “She Likes It,” which was released on his self-titled album back in 2022 as a duet with Jake Scott, when he hopped up on a speaker in front of the stage. But apparently the speaker wasn’t quite as stable as he thought it was, because you can almost see the moment Dickerson felt it start to wobble – and then sent him falling down into the pit.
Credit to Dickerson, he was able to get right back up and keep performing. And afterwards, he even asked the crowd if anyone had captured the moment on video and encouraged them to post it – and luckily for us, there were plenty of people who took him up on the offer:

After the mishap, Dickerson even poked fun at himself on social media, joking that he “fell hard for Mansfield.”
Maybe time to have a conversation with his team about anchoring the speakers down a little more.
Billy Strings Has Jokes After Being Hit In The Head During Indiana Show

Lately, live music has been under heavy scrutiny for a plethora of different reasons. Obviously, the biggest and most predatory threat to the industry is none other than Live Nation and Ticketmaster, who all but have a monopoly on ticket sales. Of course, that’s not even mentioning the fact that bots and scalpers have made it even harder for real fans to actually purchase tickets.
Unfortunately, fans deserve a lot of scrutiny as well. Over the past few years, especially in a post-COVID world, it seems as if fan behavior has hit an all-time low. From the ridiculous beer-throwing at Treaty Oak Revival concerts that left frontman Sam Canty with a gash under his eye and Riley Green needing stitches after a phone was hurled at him in Australia to Megan Moroney having a hat chucked at her and Morgan Wallen getting phones thrown at him at nearly every show, some of the biggest stars in the genre have had to deal with their fair share of chaos recently.
And while it’s easy to dismiss it as only happening to artists whose fans have a history of bad behavior, last Thursday, Billy Strings became the latest victim after getting hit in the head at his own concert.
The bluegrass superstar was playing a show at Fishers Event Center in Fishers, Indiana, when something came flying out of the crowd and hit him directly on the head.
