Two of Kentucky’s finest.

Carly Pearce has a new music video out today for her song “We Don’t Fight Anymore,” which features the great Chris Stapleton.

Directed by Alexa Campbell, the video features actress Lucy Hale, a longtime friend of Pearce who you may recognize from the hit show Pretty Little Liars, among many others, alongside actor Shiloh Fernandez.

They tell the heartbreaking story of the complexities of a relationship and navigating through tough times, and whether you stick it out and stay together or not, how hard and confusing that can be.

Carly says Lucy and Shiloh brought it all to life in such a tragic, palpable way:

“Having talents like Lucy and Shiloh were truly such a gift. The ‘space’ you feel between the two of them is felt so tragically at every moment of this video.”

The song was written by Carly along with frequent collaborator Shane McAnally and Pete Good, and is also her debut as a co-producer, as it was produced by McAnally, Josh Osborne, and Pearce.

Carly added that it was of course a “dream come true” to get her fellow Kentuckian Chris to feature on the record:

“This song embodies a place that I think, if we are honest with ourselves, we’ve all felt at some point in a relationship.

The distance that feels heartbreaking, yet you’re also indifferent. I’ve always been a writer who never wanted to shy away from the ‘uncomfortable’ moments in all of our lives, and this song feels too important not to share.

Having Chris Stapleton join me on this song was a dream come true and he unlocked an element to the story that I didn’t even know it needed.”

She added that she’s “never been more proud” of a song:

“I hope this song meets you wherever you are on your journey. Whether that’s in the middle of needing to call it quits, remembering someone from the past or deciding you want to work it out.

I’ve never been more proud of a song. ‘We Don’t Fight Anymore’ ft. Chris Stapleton out everywhere now.”

In the end, it all goes up in flames… but you’ll have to watch the video for yourself to find out what that really means:

This is one of Carly’s first new releases from outside of her 2021 29: Written In Stone album, as she also recently put out “Country Music Made Me Do It” in August.
