Ranking The Top 5 Commercials From The Super Bowl

How is your post Super Bowl Monday going?

If you did the “Big Game” right, you are feeling either bloated, tired, hungover, exhausted, lethargic, regretful, or a combination of all of those characteristics. Personally, I’m definitely checking the “bloated” and “tired” boxes.

We’re now 205 days away from the NFL season after the Kansas City Chiefs emerged victorious and won their third Super Bowl since 2020. There’s no doubt now that the Chiefs Dynasty is real.

The game itself was exciting, being only the second Super Bowl to ever go into overtime. Fans couldn’t have asked for a better back-and-forth football game, but they definitely could have asked for some better Super Bowl commercials.

They weren’t all that bad, though it does seem like the days of laugh-out-loud commercials during the “Big Game” are behind us. There were a select few that actually landed rather well with Super Bowl viewers, and I went ahead and took some time to “power rank” the best of the best.

Let’s get into it…

5. “Like A Good Neighbaaa” State Farm Commercial with Arnold Schwarzenegger

There might be such a thing as State Farm fatigue, considering the insurance agency is very present with their “Jake from State Farm” ads that seem to feature every player and coach from the Kansas City Chiefs.

“Agent State Farm” with Arnold Schwarzenegger was a nice change of pace, and the cameo from Danny Devito (for a tasteful Twins reunion) was the icing on the cake. It all came together to be enough to earn the number five spot on our list.

4. “Hail Arnold” Paramount + Advertisement

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this one would have been higher up on the list if we hadn’t all already seen it a week ago.

Admittedly, the star-studded Paramount + commercial (featuring Sir Patrick Stewart, Hey Arnold, Creed and more) was hilarious. I just think it would have gone over better if everyone saw it during the “Big Game” for the very first time.

3. “Michael Cera” CeraVe Skin Care Commercial

This one seemed to get back to some of the zany Super Bowl commercial basics (think of PuppyMonkeyBaby), which is why it comes in at number three on the list.

Of course, it requires viewers to be familiar with Michael Cera and his work (Barbie, Superbad, Scott Pilgrim, Arrested Development), and obviously plays off the fact that Cera shares a name with a skin care product.

2. “Contagious Mullets” Kawasaki Advertisement

Simple, yet effective. Ironically, this commercial was the mullet of Super Bowl commercials.

There’s really not much to it, other than the Kawasaki Ridge basically making mullets contagious, and giving the “business in the front, party in the back” look to anyone the off-road vehicle passes. Seeing a bear, bald eagle, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin with mullets was enough for me.

1. “The Dunkings” Dunkin’ Commercial with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon & More

It’s hard to argue against the “Dunkings” commercial at the number one spot. Dunkin’s ad spot was chock-full of celebrity cameos, but they all played an important role.

Tom Brady on the piano? Ben Affleck rapping about donuts and seemingly holding Matt Damon hostage (or at least forcing him to help)? All while wearing ridiculous orange and pink donut jumpsuits? It doesn’t get any better than that.
