“Maintain My Big A** So More People Can Kiss It” — Lainey Wilson’s 2023 New Year’s Resolution Is Just As Awesome One Year Later

A QUEEN.

Lainey Wilson made one of the greatest New Year’s resolutions I’ve ever heard for 2023, declaring on X (Twitter) on January 1st of last year that her goal was to:

“Maintain my big ass so more people can kiss it.”

Of course, towards the end of 2022, her butt went mega-viral after a fan posted a simple video of her backside looking absolutely perfect, so it was certainly a fitting, and funny, goal for the new year:

All of the content around her butt spread like wildfire from there, and Lainey managed to capitalize on all of the attention over the last 12 months or so carrying that momentum in a huge way, saying she was happy that people found her no matter how they got there.

In addition, the country queen took home the coveted trophy for CMA Entertainer of the Year in 2023, and figuratively toured her ass off (yes, it’s still there, don’t worry guys) pretty much non-stop.

She was also added to the cast of Yellowstone for Season 5, which only enhanced her star power, though unfortunately, it’s still going to be a while before we ever get to see the conclusion of the show.

Safe to say, Lainey is at the top of her game right now, and from the outside looking in, I think she was able to uphold that resolution with grace and ease, becoming one of the most recognizable and popular acts in mainstream country music right now in the process.

And honestly, I think I might make her 2023 resolution my own personal goal for 2024, and I’m not really a “resolutions” person at all typically.

I’m certainly not trying to compare myself to Lainey, she’s a superstar obviously, but I have no plans to do dry January, no desire to purchase a gym membership, and this one just feels like something I can actually maintain, at least figuratively… like I said, I’m probably not going to the gym.

In all seriousness, Lainey is a gem and I think meant that resolution in good fun (gotta play the game sometimes, ya know?) and she shared a lengthy, sweet, heartfelt message on Instagram yesterday about what this year meant to her.

And while we have yet to hear what her 2024 resolution is, I have a feeling she’s gonna keep kickin’ ass in every sense of the term.

Cheers to that, and Happy New Year, y’all:

Lainey also performed live at New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash celebration last night, taking the stage to sing her #1 hit “Things A Man Oughta Know,” among others:
