This just feels (and sounds) wrong.
Lainey Wilson is instantly recognizable for two very unique things: her thick backside and her thick Louisiana twang. The latter is one of the most endearing things about her, and yes, it’s 100% real (just like her butt, but I digress…).
She grew up in small town Baskin, Louisiana, and I love that she’s so proud of where she comes from and has never tried to change her voice or hide who she is. She always embraces it, and that’s queen shit.
Well, most of the time…
Lainey shared a funny video yesterday on Instagram where she talks without her accent, and it is STRANGE.
She kinda sounds like a valley girl, and no offense to valley girl’s, but it’s just not Lainey and is so bizarre to hear it.
Her team also seems caught off guard hearing it, with one of them remarking that Lainey’s whole face also changes when she changes her voice.
Alright, enough about me tripping out over how weird this is and just listen for yourself:

In the caption of the video, Lainey mentioned that she and Hardy are finishing up the last few shows of his the mockingbird & THE CROW fall tour, and the pair also recently took home a couple CMA Awards for their song “wait in the truck.”
