Well that’s one way to get your juices flowing in the morning.
Security cameras have given us all sorts of quality videos over the years. Whether it’s a mountain lion leaping over a backyard fence or a giant black bear hiding out under a family’s deck, you can find pretty much anything you’re looking for thanks to people’s need to feel secure, and that includes a good old fashion early morning freak out.
This video was originally posted to TikTok by the guy’s kid and it shows him accidentally stepping on a baby deer that was curled up on the first step coming down from the porch and absolutely freaking out when it bleats out in pain.
Obviously, it’s pretty funny, but come on, it’s got to be terrifying to get yelled at by a deer the second you leave your house.
As if that wasn’t enough, the pained cries of the fawn let its mother know it was in trouble and the doe came running in to protect her child. The guy was trying to slowly move away from the fawn when he realized a big old deer was sprinting right at him and trying to get close enough to scare the guy off, which caused him to tuck tail and run while unleashing another guttural scream.
We don’t see his initial reaction to the deer chasing him because he took off to the backyard, but man I wish we did. Watching a dad in a full panic mode doesn’t happen often, but when you get a chance to see it, it’s always worth it.
Eventually everything settles down and the baby and its mother are able to walk off, but man, the adrenaline rush that dad must have had for the rest of the day puts his morning coffee to shame.
I don’t know if I want a camera at my front door recording everything I do, but boy am I glad that so man others have decided to install one…
