It was one of the most viral moments of the year.
By now you’ve probably seen the viral video of Gomas delivering a bizarre but passionate warning to her fellow passengers on an American Airlines flight as she rushed to get off the plane:
“You can say whatever you want, I’m telling you I’m getting the f*ck off, and there’s a reason why I’m getting the f*ck off.
Everyone can either believe it or they can not believe it. I don’t give two f*cks. But I am telling you right now, that motherf*cker back there is not real.
And you can sit on this plane and you can f*cking die with them or not. I’m not going to.”

The strange moment had the internet wondering: Just who was she talking about?
The official police report claims that the incident was the result over Gomas losing her AirPods, but that doesn’t really explain the warning that she issued before getting off the plane.
And in a video posted to Twitter, the 38-year old Dallas resident apologized for her outburst – but still didn’t explain what caused it:
“First and foremost, I want to take full accountability for my actions. They were completely unacceptable.
Distressed or not, I should have been in control of my emotions, and that was not the case.”
Yeah, ok, thanks for the apology, but WHAT WERE YOU DISTRESSED ABOUT? Was there a lizard person on the plane? What did he say to you? What the hell is going on here?
TMZ even caught up with Gomas and asked once again what she saw – but she’s wouldn’t talk:
“I mean, thanks for asking that but I have been told that I cannot comment on it right now.”
Told by who? Your lawyer? The government? The lizard person? At least tell us who’s keeping you from giving us the answers.
She also revealed that she doesn’t regret getting off the plane after what she saw:
“I was distressed, and I was getting off the plane no matter what. I just probably didn’t need to make the scene that I made. But I was getting off that plane. For sure.”
And she stands by her decision not to take the flight:
“100%.”
That answer just made the whole thing even more bizarre. If it wasn’t just a manic episode, or a drunken meltdown, and she’s still convinced that she saw something out of the ordinary, that still leaves the question: What exactly did she see?
Well now we have our answer, but just like everything else in this strange saga, it only raises more questions.
Gomas sat down with the Barstool Sports podcast Pardon My Take, and the hosts asked her once again what she saw on the plane:
“The reason I probably haven’t come out yet, because it’s so cringe, I did not see anything.”
Wait, what? Didn’t she say she saw something?
“No, I did not. I said THAT motherf*cker, not these.”
Ok that makes no sense, but go on Tiff…
“So I got into a bit of an altercation, it spiraled out of control, it was not my best moment. I mean it was actually a horrible moment. It was absolutely mortifying.”
But that still doesn’t explain what – or who – was “not real.”
“It was an expression of speech.”
Now I’m not one to question somebody’s side of the story (I totally am, but that’s beside the point), but she clearly said that SOMEBODY was not real, and warned her fellow passengers that they would “die with them” if they stayed on the plane.
That doesn’t exactly sound like just “an expression of speech” to me.
So once again, Tiffany Gomas leaves us with more questions than answers…and maybe at this point that’s what she’s trying to do. Because after becoming a meme, a Halloween costume, and one of the most viral internet personalities of the year, maybe she’s just trying to take advantage of her moment.
