Creed Announces ‘Summer Of ’99’ Reunion Tour With 3 Doors Down And The World Is Fired Up

8th grade me is SO fired up right now…

For as much flack as the band has taken in the music critic/online community throughout the years, Creed has really been having a recent revival of sorts thanks to some pro sports teams using their songs as pump up anthems.

First, we heard that the Texas Rangers started blasting the late 90’s/early aughts rock band to get themselves out of a midseason slumpand that quite obviously worked as the team now finds themselves in the World Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The rock group even made it out to a game during the ALCS and the whole stadium sung along to “Higher” after they punched their ticket to the Fall Classic.

Then, we learned the Minnesota Vikings were using Creed to try and turn their season around after a 1-4 start, crediting it with a win over the Chicago Bears and the San Francisco 49ers.

Unfortunately, the Vikings season appears to (again) be in a downfall after Kirk Cousins apparently ruptured his Achilles ala Aaron Rodgers yesterday, but the difference in the pre-Creed and post-Creed Vikings was very evident.

Throughout this mini-Creed comeback, the group even announced they were getting back together for a special 5 night run aboard a Cruise Ship sailing from Miami to the Bahamas, but just today, they took that comeback to a new level.

Creed announced they were embarking on 40 city reunion tour titled Summer of ’99 with support from a slew of huge acts from the early 2000’s like 3 Doors Down (my first favorite band), Finger Eleven, Tonic, and Daughtry.

As if that wasn’t cool enough, a select number of lawn seats at every show will be sold for $19.99 in honor of the tour’s name.

Frontman Scott Stapp gave a statement to Billboard discussing this comeback tour.

“I feel like I’m as strong as I’ve ever been vocally, and looking forward to sharing the stage with the guys again. The fans have clearly let us know they feel it’s long overdue. I want to give them what they deserve. I’m ready to bring it.”

Summer of ’99 kicks off in Green Bay, WI on July 17th, 2024 and ends with at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City on September 28th. The full list of dates and supporting acts is listed below.

I mean, come on now, is this not the tour the world needs to unite again? I say it’s high time to move past all of this online, “I’m too cool to listen to Creed” nonsense and throw our arms around each other once again and belt out “One Last Breath”, “With Arms Wide Open”, and “My Sacrifice” after going bananas when 3 Doors Down breaks out “Kryptonite”.

And it’s not just me that’s more than ready for this tour… Check out some of the best fan reactions on the internet.

I got the chills just thinking about that moment…
