In case you live under a rock and didn’t hear the news, Taylor Swift was at the Kansas City Chiefs game yesterday.
For the past week or so, the talk of the NFL hasn’t been on football, but on whether Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is dating Taylor Swift.
And yesterday, it seemed as though all of the rumors were finally confirmed as Swift attended the game and sat next to Kelce’s mom in their family suite.
Kelce put on a great show for his seemingly new lady, too, as he scored a touchdown in the Kansas City Chiefs’ 41-10 victory over the Chicago Bears (thanks to some help from QB Patrick Mahomes), and led the team with seven catches for 69 yards.
Travis and Taylor were spotted leaving the game together in style in a vintage convertible, too, all but confirming the fact that they’re at least casually dating or getting to know each other in some form or fashion:
And in a TikTok video that’s gone viral over on X (Twitter) by a Swift fan in the last 24 hours, rumors are swirling that Taylor paid for everyone’s meal at the restaurant she and Kelce wanted to eat at in order to have the place all to themselves.
TikTok user @1989vinyl shared in a since-deleted video that a friend was dining there when the waitress came up and shared Taylor’s plan with patrons:
“I just got a call from a friend and Taylor is going into a place, and she just paid for everybody in the restaurant so they would leave.
They were eating and the waitress came up to them and said, ‘Here’s the deal. Everything’s paid for, but you have to leave, like, right now.’ How freaking insane is this?”
It’s unclear why she deleted the video (the first thing that comes to mind is obviously that it may not be true), and Page Six reported that Swift’s reps have yet to confirm the rumors.
Later in the video, the woman also claimed that in addition to Swift and Kelce being there to eat, “a bunch of the other players arrived” eventually, too:
I’d love to know the full truth behind this story, because who knows if the whole thing is really factual, but seeing as Taylor is currently the biggest artist on the planet, it doesn’t seem that insane to think she could definitely pull that off if she wanted to.
Also, the “normal person” part of me wonders why they wouldn’t just rent a space out ahead of time or go eat at home if they were worried about causing a spectacle in public (it was kinda too late for that anyways), but I digress…
Oh, and at the end of his weekly WEEI interview on The Greg Hill Show Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said that if the dating rumors are true, it would be the “biggest catch” of Kelce’s career, for whatever that’s worth.
It’s kinda hard to argue with that, though…
