An AI Cover Of Elvis Presley Singing Marty Robbins’ “Big Iron” Is Alarmingly Good

Now this is a good use of AI.

As AI has become a tool that more and more people are utilizing, one part that I have thoroughly been enjoying is covers of non-musicians or musicians singing songs we all know and love.

I stumbled across my new favorite AI cover while scrolling on TikTok… Elvis Presley covering Marty Robbins’ “Big Iron.”

This AI cover is so believable, not only because their vocals have similarities making it easier to manipulate the soundtracks to fit Presley’s voice, but because these two were real-life friends.

Robbins and Presley were buds back in the 1950s, and both were fans of each other’s music, often covering one another’s songs. The King of Rock and the Wild Western character of Robbins were both major disruptors of their genres. While they were classified into different genres, their music had more similarities than differences.

Check out Marty Robbin’s covering Elvis’ “That’s Alright Mama.”

The way he manipulates his voice to mimic Elvis is incredible:

When I came across this AI cover, I honestly had to go down a deep dive to ensure that it was not an actual cover, given the friendship between the two.

While there is no video evidence that Elvis covered the hit song “Big Iron,” it would not surprise me to learn he threw it in a set list once or twice.

The AI cover is phenomenal of the track and makes me wish these two had hit the studio together during their careers.

Check it out.

Of course, without the original recording from Marty Robbins, an AI version would not exist, so give the hit single a listen while you’re here.
