Nickelback Joined By Jelly Roll For Performance Of “Rockstar” At Stagecoach Festival

I don’t care what anybody says, Nickelback has some bangers.

I grew up listening to the Canadian rock band and their hits like “Photograph,” “How You Remind Me,” “Figured You Out” and “Animals.” Of course I was probably too young to be listening to some of those songs, but whatever, I turned out fine.

Of course Nickelback gets shit on a lot these days on the internet, and there are tons of memes about how terrible their music is, but you can’t tell me that everybody’s not turning it up when “Rockstar” comes on.

The band was recently at Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California, where they headlined the Palomino stage on Friday night (and apparently attracted quite a few people who left Eric Church’s set on the Mane stage in frustration).

And when it came time to play one of their biggest hits, they called on one of their rock star friends to help out.

Jelly Roll joined Chad Kroeger and the rest of Nickelback for a performance of “Rockstar,” where he called the band “living legends” before Kroeger jokingly asked whether Jelly just got off work after just wrapping up his set on the Mane stage:

“That wasn’t work my friend, that was the best night of my motherf*cking life. And just when I thought that night couldn’t get any better my friends invited me to come sing one of the most iconic songs in rock and roll history.”

Kroeger was obviously pumped about Jelly Roll’s passion:

“You’re giving ME goosebumps.”

And not only did the crowd love the performance as they screamed every word, Jelly Roll seemed to be enjoying himself too – even cracking up as he sang the line in the chorus, “We’ll all stay skinny ‘cuz we just won’t eat.”

I mean, if 80,000 people at Stagecoach can admit they like Nickelback, it’s fine to admit you like them too.
