Carly Pearce and her boyfriend of two years, Riley King, are no longer an item.

In an interview with People today, Carly confirmed that they have decided to go their separate ways after two years together, remaining pretty vague by saying that they “simply were not right for each other”:

“For the most part, it was great. People date to see if they’re gonna go the distance, and we weren’t. We just simply were not right for each other, and that’s the bottom line.

I am on such a beautiful journey, and I am really excited about the next chapter of my life.”

Carly and Riley had been pretty public and open about their relationship, and he often attended major award shows alongside her, notably the Grammy awards in February of this year, when Carly won her won very first Grammy in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for her #1 hit with Ashley McBryde “Never Wanted To Be That Girl.”

King, who is a real estate in Nashville, also confirmed the split to Page Six, saying:

“Yes, things didn’t work out.

Carly and I have parted ways and I wish her nothing but the best in both her career and personal life.”

Prior to dating King, Carly went through a very public divorce from fellow country singer Michael Ray in 2020, after they were married for eight short months.

She released her self-proclaimed “divorce album” 29: Written in Stone in 2021, and recently scored her fourth #1 single at country radio with the final single from that record, “What He Didn’t Do.”

Carly is also gearing up to release a new song with the great Chris Stapleton next week called “We Don’t Fight Anymore,” and will likely be announcing a new record sometime soon, too, because she’s been teasing new music coming for a little while now.
