I can’t even imagine…

Alec Baldwin has officially released a statement on the accidental shooting while on-set filming Rust, which led to the death of cinemaphotographer Halyna Hutchins, and the injury of director Joel Souza.

He Tweeted out:

“There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours.

I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family.

My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”

This comes after the news that Baldwin accidentally fired a prop gun that had a live round in it, ultimately killing Halyna and injuring Souza.

The police are continuing their investigation, and there are still no charges pressed thus far.

A distraught Baldwin was photographed at a local police station, weeping over the incident.

A prop master explained to CNN how an incident like this could happen:
