Mike Fisher sure is literally living up to his last name, huh?

After Koe Wetzel officially kicked off catfish noodling season, Fisher decided to get in on the fun too.

The former Nashville Predators team captain enjoyed a 19 year NHL career after debuting for the Ottawa Senators in 1999. Fisher married country music superstar Carrie Underwood in 2010 after meeting her backstage at one of her concerts in 2008, and then he locked it up by proposing in 2009.

An avid outdoorsman, Fisher spent this past weekend getting wet and wild with some big catfish at an unspecified location, and evidentially a legendary wife isn’t the only thing the man can catch.

“Hard to beat fresh catfish.”

After retiring from hockey in 2018, Fisher has leaned heavily into the outdoor industry. He co-founded the outdoor apparel company Catchin’ Deers with his brother Bud and some buddies.

In attempt to market the brand, his brother created an alter ego as Rut Daniels, who has grown into an outdoor entertainment celebrity in his own right, with over 130k YouTube subscribers and almost 200k Instagram followers.
