DAMN… what a group.
Luke Combs kicked off his 2023 World Tour this past weekend in Dallas at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, and it looked like a helluva show.
Of course, it helps when you have four kickass openers to start the evening off with, including Lainey Wilson, Flatland Cavalry, Brent Cobb and Riley Green , who Luke brought out at the end of the show for an awesome group rendition of Brooks & Dunn’s iconic “Brand New Man.”
“Brand New Man” was the duo’s debut single in 1991, and eventually became the title track to their debut album of the same name. Written by Kix Brooks, Ronnie Dunn and Don Cook, the single peaked at #1 on the Billboard country charts.
Other than Diamond Rio with “Meet in the Middle” four months prior, Brooks & Dunn became only the second country music band in history to have its debut single reach #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
And of course, it’s become one of their signature tunes and a staple in their catalog, and Luke actually reimagined it in 2019 for the awesome Reboot album, which featured tons of other artists singing Brooks & Dunn’s biggest hits with them.
Since then, the song has become a staple at Luke’s live shows too, but it had to be so damn fun to see all these incredibly talented artists on stage together belting out a 90’s heater like that.
I just can’t wait to see the show when Luke rolls through Charlotte come July… this is epic:
