The inevitable apology…
Tiger Woods back out on the golf course this week, teeing off at the Genesis Open at Riviera Golf Course in Los Angeles, California.
Tiger played pretty well in the opening round, before shooting 3 over in the second round. Woods was sitting right on the cut line and tied for 60th when play was suspended because of darkness. The top 65 will advance to play the final two rounds so Tiger has a pretty good chance of making the cut right now.
But that’s not really the main story is it.
No, the main story of this weekend is that Tiger put himself in hot water with the outrage mob when he handed Justin Thomas a tampon after outdriving him.
It was obvious that Tiger was just busting some balls, and you could see Thomas laughing pretty hard about it on the fairway.
However, not everybody found it funny…
Former pro golfer and current model and influencer Paige Spiranac saw the backlash coming and tweeted:
“If anyone tries to cancel Tiger over this we riot. It’s funny.”
Welp… Tiger issued an apology.
“It was supposed to be all fun and games but obviously it hasn’t turned out that way.
If I offended anybody, it was not the case, it was just friends having fun. If I offended anybody in any way, shape or form, I’m sorry. It was not intended to be that way.
We play pranks on one another all the time.”
And shocker… that was another source of outrage.
Others hated that he even felt the need to apologize in the first place:
