Singer/songwriter Michelle Branch was arrested for reportedly slapping her estranged husband, Patrick Carney, in the face, after he allegedly cheated on her.

According to TMZ, police were called to the couple’s Nashville home around 2 AM on Thursday morning for a possible domestic disturbance.

Although Carney didn’t have any visible injuries, Branch admitted to slapping him in the face “one or two times.”

Her bail was set at $1,000, and she was released from custody because she was breastfeeding their six-month-old.

Carney and Branch recently split up after three years of marriage, and she told the outlet:

“To say that I am totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family.

The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward.

With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness.”

The announcement of the split came a few hours after she tweeted out that Carney had cheated on her with his manager.

In addition to her solo work, Branch was one half (with Jessica Harp) of the country duo, The Wreckers, from 2004 to 2007, before they split up to continue their solo careers.

She won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals alongside Santana for their 2002 single, “The Game of Love.”

The Wreckers were nominated for a CMA Award for Vocal Duo of the Year in 2006, 2007, and 2008, as well as Top Vocal Duo and Top New Vocal Duo at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2007 and 2008.

Her estranged husband, Patrick Carney, is of course one of the founding members (alongside country music producer Dan Auerbach) of the popular rock group, The Black Keys.
