VIDEO: Dwight Yoakam Joins Merle Haggard On Stage In Vegas To Sing “Swinging Doors”

I’m not sure if it gets much better than Merle Haggard and Dwight Yoakam singing some certified twangers.

We’re gonna spin it back ALL the way back to 1999, when country music legend Merle Haggard was playing a show at the Las Vegas Hilton.

The man himself was gearing up to sing his 1966 hit “Swinging Doors,” off of his album, Swinging Doors and The Bottle Let Me Down, when he invited none other than Dwight Yoakam onto the stage midway through the song.

Yoakam was fresh off his 1998 album, A Long Way From Home.

Needless to say, Haggard sounds just as good as he did 30 years before, and you gotta love Yoakam strutting in with his iconic stage entrance.

Just a couple of California country boys doin’ the damn thing (yeah, I know Dwight wasn’t born there, but he might as well have been).
