That didn’t take long.
Last night, Barstool founder and CEO Dave Portnoy, and internet personality and podcast host Josh Richards, put out a diss track in an effort to call out Zach Bryan, who recently went through a very public breakup from fellow Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry (whose real name is Brianna LaPaglia).
It’s been all over the internet, and Bri put out a nearly five minute video the day the breakup went public explaining that she was obviously upset about everything, but eventually, she would talk.
Brianna co-hosts the popular BFF’s podcast with Portnoy and Richards, as well as hosting another podcast called Plan Bri Uncut with her childhood friend, Grace O’Malley. There’s a new BFFs episode out this Thursday, so I’m sure much will be revealed tomorrow.
She has yet to appear on one of those podcasts since the big breakup, but has hinted that she plans to be pretty open about everything that happened between her and one of country music’s biggest young stars.
Since the breakup, Portnoy has been pretty vocal about his feelings about Zach, and has explained that he never really liked him, going so far as to tell a story about the time Zach banned Portnoy and Josh from seeing him in concert.
Honestly, it’s all put Zach in a pretty negative light, and fans were quick to notice that it didn’t take him long to get back on the celebrity dating app Raya, either.
And obviously, I’m sure Zach isn’t loving all the negative attention, and the diss track “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” is a take off of Taylor Swift’s fan-favorite song of the same title (there’s also a part that Zach’s song “28”) definitely struck a chord with him, because he and his record label, Warner Music, had it removed from YouTube.
You can still find the song on Spotify and Apple Music, but the video itself is gone, which featured Richards and Portnoy, along with a Zach look alike as they blasted him for having a “Lego” head and “hair like Homer Simpson.”
Yeah, it was brutal… but Brianna seemed to appreciate it, obviously.
Anywho, Portnoy was clearly upset that the video was removed on YouTube, taking to X (Twitter) to call out Zach and Warner for having the “worst crisis management execs in the world.” He reminded them that he “runs an internet company” and they just “guaranteed this things hits #1”:
“Zach Bryan and Warner Music must have the worst crisis management execs in the world. Running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to erase #smallestman from the internet. Did nobody tell them I run an internet company? They just guaranteed this thing hits #1.”
Getting the video removed only draws more attention to the whole thing, obviously, though I don’t think Portnoy is aware that Zach doesn’t really have a “PR team” like most musicians as big as he is, and it’s not shocking at all that his label heads wanted the video scrubbed.
We’ll see if it somehow finds it’s way back to YouTube, but I think the song is only going to gain attention, and I could definitely see it charting on Apple or Spotify over the next day or so:

The BFFs podcast did upload it to X as well, so you can still watch it over there. Stay tuned, I’m sure this story is far from over…
