Brianna Chickenfry Responds To Dave Portnoy & Josh Richards’ Zach Bryan Diss Track: “I Pray My Daughter Has Friends Like You One Day”

They ate and left no crumbs.

The internet is weighing in on Dave Portnoy and Josh Richard’s diss track, “Smallest Man.” Last night, the two Barstool personalities and co-hosts of the BFFs Podcast shared that they would be releasing a diss track at midnight, with Zach Bryan being the topic surrounding the song. Since their third co-host, Brianna Chickenfry has been the center of the conversation about the breakup heard around the world, the two men weigh in on her ex-boyfriend.

Since the couple’s split, Dave Portnoy has been very vocal that he was never a fan of Zach Bryan. He recalls that Zach Bryan banned him from his concert when the pair were together.

“I was never a liker. How do you like that? I was never a liker…

I think he’s a fraud. Every time I met him I was not comfortable with him. Certain guys where you’re like, ‘Ok I kinda like this guy, he’s a gives good vibes guy.’ This guy never gave that vibe to me.”

Since the breakup went public, it’s been gaining a lot of media attention, with a narrative that Brianna brought ZB down and that he’s now better off without her. But her podcast co-hosts are having none of that slander and created a diss track highlighting Zach Bryan’s alleged flaws, leaving it all on the table. I cannot lie… it’s pretty savage.

From bringing up his first marriage, to giving Brianna an alleged STD, to being on Raya less than 24 hours after their split, they served it all up on a hip-hop platter, referencing his catalog on numerous occasions:

“You say you remember everything, I guess not because you forgot about your wedding ring
This ain’t a subtweet, I ain’t coming subliminal, you’re great at being country without a second syllable
My fist plus your face, simple addition
The way you did her wrong, man is sickening.”

And the music video is WILD:

The video, which features Richards and Portnoy dressed as police officers and a Zach Bryan-esque figure being interrogated, has since been removed from YouTube (Zach’s label WME seems to have filed a copyright complaint), but the video is still available on X and the song can be found on streaming platforms:

I’m not entirely sure where the lines of parody and creativity intersect with copyright and defamation, that’s probably something for a court to figure out, but you have to imagine that ZB and his team isn’t very happy about it.

In the last part of the song, they write their own rendition of “28,” which is a song that ZB wrote about him and Brianna when they thought their dog Boston was sick, and thankfully, she ended up being okay. Bryan said he wrote the lyrics when he and Brianna reflected on how lucky they were to have things play out the way they did and their little family was home and safe.

With that family no longer, Portnoy and Richards changed the tender lyrics of the chorus into some pretty personal digs:

“How lucky is Bri to be rid of ZB and his STDs
How lucky is Bri to be rid of ZB and his STDs”

Is that where the copyright issue stems from? Seems like it…

Given the track’s brutal lyrics, social media had some thoughts after listening to it this morning. The general consensus is pretty mixed. Zach has a lot of adorning fans, no doubt about it, and a lot who love his music and don’t necessarily care about his personal life or internet drama. But there is also a sizeable amount of people who don’t like him, and love this opportunity to kick a man while he’s down. But given the harshness of the lyrics, and that Portnoy and Richards dove into every single internet rumor, fans were shocked that they went in on the level they did.

Of course, my next thought is what does Bri think of all of this given the fact that she is the person involved in the relationship, and it didn’t take long for her to share her thoughts on Instagram. In a story post, she said:

“Goodnight. You two are absolutely bat sh*t crazy. But I do pray my daughter has friends like you both one day.”

I mean… it’s hard to disagree with that. Everyone needs some ride or die friends… and it seems like nobody rides harder than Dave and Josh.
