The Morgan Wallen car was good luck.
Yesterday, Felix Rosenqvist won the Indy 500 in what was the closest finish in Indy 500 history. It was a wild ending that made for a very exciting race if you were watching live.
And country music’s biggest star was part of it, as Rosenqvist drove the No. 60 Honda which had Morgan’s name on it, as part of a promotional partnership between Meyer Shank Racing and SiriusXM as a way to promote Morgan’s new SiriusXM channel “Morgan Wallen Radio” for the month of May.
Rosenqvist is originally from Sweden, and he also had Morgan’s name on his fire suit , as you can see it in the photos he shared from Victory Lane, with the color scheme looking to be inspired by the camo that Morgan loves, too:
Morgan shared the video of the close finish on his Instagram stories, as Rosenqvist secured the victory by a margin of 0.023 seconds, narrowly beating out David Malukas in the final seconds:

MSR and SiriusXM used Morgan’s “signature aesthetic” to create the scheme, and it turned out really cool. Of course, the Indy 500 is one of the most important events in all of motorsports racing so it was really cool to see the car come in first place:

Rosenqvist’s car has represented Metallica and Tom Petty at different points over the past year too, but this is the first time it has been a country artist featured, and you can’t ask for any more than a win when you do something like this.
There’s tons of connections between country music and NASCAR, we’ve seen a Chris Stapleton-inspired scheme this year too, but it’s cool to see Morgan be part of IndyCar, and the win is just the cherry on top.
Morgan just keeps winning on and off the stage (ACM’s not included, but he doesn’t care)…
