No love lost here.

Of course, the talk of the country world this week is the news that Zach Bryan and Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry broke up.

Things went public almost immediately, and Brianna said she felt “blindsided” by the fact that Zach was already sharing the news publicly at the beginning of this week. In a tearful video posted to her Plan Bri Uncut YouTube channel on Tuesday, Bri shared that they had broken up the day prior, which would’ve been Monday.

Brianna hosts her Plan Bri podcast along with the BFFs podcast alongside Barstool owner Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards, and Zach would be a topic of conversation from time to time on the podcast, dating back to when the relationship started and Brianna telling the story of how they first met.

But now that they’ve split, Portnoy has rushed to defend Bri, sharing his thoughts and opinions on Zach, saying on a recent podcast appearance on The Unnamed Show, that he thought Zach was a “fraud” and he never really liked him that much.

And now we have a little more insight as to why…

Dave also shared a couple stories about instances with Zach, though specifically one that occurred when Zach played a show before the Super Bowl last year stood out.

The three podcast hosts, Bri, Dave and Josh, were supposed to all go to the concert together, though Zach had apparently seen a clip from an old episode of the BFFs podcast from six months prior when Bri and him first started dating, and her co-hosts joked with her about it, saying she had a “revolving door of boyfriends” lately  because it was her third in a couple of months.

Well, Zach didn’t think it was all that funny, and he banned Dave and Josh from coming to the show the day of. Bri called her boss to tell him they couldn’t come, and added that it was the “the first, biggest fight we’ve been in.”

“The story goes, this is, we’re at the Super Bowl. Zach Bryan is performing and Josh Richards, who we do BFFs with, we were going to go to his concert. Meet Bri, go and on my text now I’m like ‘Hey Bri, what time are we meeting up to go?’ She’s not getting back to me. Finally she calls me, she goes, ‘I don’t know how to say this, I have bad news.’

I’m like, ‘What?’ She’s like, Zach has banned you from going to the concert. I’m like, ‘What? Banned? For what?’ Apparently, Zach went back, like, how many months was it? It had to be six months… we at one time on BFFs had a discussion where Bri just got a new boyfriend, and we’re like, ‘Whoa, that’s like your third boyfriend in barely a couple months.’

I’m like, ‘You’re a revolving door of boyfriends lately. He saw that, flipped… six months prior, and banned us from going to the concert. Bri was like, ‘It’s the first, biggest fight we’ve been in.’ I’m like this is what we do, like we joke, like what are you mad about?”

I mean, not exactly an ideal situation to have a feud like that between your boss and your boyfriend, so I can certainly see why it turned into a huge fight.

Dave went on to tell another story about a fight that was spurred after Bri attended the Golden Globes and was asked who she was excited to see there. She named some good looking celebrity (Dave couldn’t remember who), and according to Dave, Zach went off and wasn’t too happy about her answer.

Dave also said he just thought something about Zach was “off,” and called him “insecure” for how he handled those fights with Bri:

“So that was the first sensitive, the second sensitive, which now that I got the green light, fast-forward, Bri goes to like the Golden Globes and Zach’s not there. And I think Bree, I’m paraphrasing, was interviewed on the red carpet, like anybody excited to meet? And it was some famous, awesome looking celebrity.

And I think she’s like ‘Oh, he’s good looking… yeah he looks nice.’ He unfollowed Bri on social, blocked BFFs, like you insecure baby. like she’s on the red carpet being interviewed. So he just seemed like a really immature, not confident, baby. And then, when I’ve been around, he was nice to us at the concert, but off. Like his vibes were just… he was so over the top nice, like ‘Thank you so much for coming. It means the world to me that you came.’ It’s like, no it don’t… insecure, insecure. So insecure.”

Of course, that’s just one side of the story, but considering the nature of how public Zach and Bri’s relationship was the entire time, it does make for intriguing content and I’m inclined to believe there’s a good amount of truth to them, honestly.

Portnoy did eventually appear onstage with Zach in Boston to sing “Revival” at a concert for 70,000 people. I guess it’s good that he got to while the gettin’ was good, because I don’t think it will ever happen again at this point:
