Now the internet has gone too far.

Of course we all know what a cesspool social media can be. I learned a long time ago not to read the comments, so whenever people have something to say about whatever I write or say on social media, it’s basically just yelling into the void because I’m not going to read it.

I don’t know what it is about social media that makes people feel comfortable with saying horrible things about each other, including people they’ve never met, but that’s the unfortunate reality these days. Probably because there aren’t any consequences for being a shitty person.

Well Bunnie Xo recently revealed that her husband, Grammy-nominated country superstar Jelly Roll, had left social media because he was tired of being bullied about his weight.

“My husband got off the internet because he is so tired of being bullied about his f*cking weight.

And that makes me want to cry because he is the sweetest angel baby.

My husband doesn’t show it to you guys, but I’m gonna have a very vulnerable moment here. It hurts him.”

Jelly Roll has also been open about his struggles with weight loss. He’s reportedly working with renowned bio hacker Gary Brecka, who set a goal to help the country star drop 250 pounds in 14 months.

The “Halfway To Hell” singer wanted to become more fit, and one of the goals he set not too long ago was to participate in and finish an upcoming 2 Bears 5K charity run, which is hosted by comedians Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer.

Jelly Roll wanted to make sure he was prepared for the event, and told People that he was taking his training very seriously:

“I’m probably down 70-something pounds. I’ve been really kicking ass, man. I’m doing two to three miles a day, four to six days a week. I’m doing 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna, six minutes in a cold plunge every day. I’m eating healthy right now.”

That’s definitely something he should be praised for, not bullied about.

And one of Jelly Roll’s friends, Flavor Flav, is sticking up for him amidst the bullying.

The rapper, DJ and reality TV star took to social media with a message to those who would jump online to mock or criticize Jelly Roll over his weight:

“How dare y’all try to judge my man about his weight and his character…

This man’s music has been giving a lot of people hope that’s stranded in the streets, locked up in jails, people that’s on drugs.

And let me tell you something. On a personal note, Jelly Roll is one of the nicest, I mean one of the absolute nicest men on the planet that y’all would ever want to know. And a lot of people would love to be like Jelly Roll.

So for all of y’all that’s trying to judge my boy Jelly Roll, I think y’all need to take a step back and judge yourselves. Because y’all judging him is not going to stop him from being successful.

Power to you, Jelly Roll.”

Amen.
