HARDY Joins Nickelback For Nostalgic Duet Of “How You Remind Me”

Hardy and Nickelback
CMT

Another stellar performance from the HARDY and Nickelback CMT Crossover.

After the release of their collaboration on HARDY’s “Truck Bed” I was sold on the final product of these two artists’ sound coming together. But I think that this performance might top “Truck Bed.”

During the session, HARDY took a back seat while Nickelback led the way on their hit “How You Remind Me.” I think I speak for most people over the age of 25 when I say that this song is a staple of growing up. The chorus just hit differently when you were belting it in the back seat of the car.

Chad Kroeger is rock solid on his vocal delivery, almost sounding better than when they first recorded it in 2001. HARDY jumps in on the second verse, and his vocals blend perfectly with their grunge rock sound, adding a little bit of a twang on some words to keep his country roots.

It’s not like you didn’t know that
I said, “I love you,” and I swear I still do
And it must have been so bad
‘Cause livin’ with me must have damn near killed you”

The whole performance is electric, with the crowd singing along. Just when I wasn’t sure the energy could not be topped, the breakdown into the bridge proved me wrong. The softening of the melody before amping it back up, combined with the flashing lights and belting out of the words, makes for a helluva an ending.

So when are Nickelback and HARDY going to hit the studio together? The next HIXTAPE could be insane, and Nickelback’s crossover into country music is one that I am sure would be welcomed with open arms.

We’ve said it before and will keep screaming it… Nickelback UNDERRATED.
