Last night at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, the two rising country music stars took to the stage to perform their smash hit duet, “Save Me.” Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll both had whirlwind years in 2023, with the two of them snagging major award wins and sharing the spotlight together. Jelly Roll noted in a previous interview that he wasn’t sure if he wanted to feature anyone on “Save Me” because he knew that the lyrics of the song carried weight. However, when the idea of putting Wilson on the track came to be, there was no one else he’d rather feature on it.

The two are great friends outside of their creative collaborations, and you can feel how much they love celebrating each others’ successes through each interview they do. You can also feel that when they take the stage together, and once again, they burned the house down.

On a candlelit stage, Jelly Roll belts out the lyrics, highlighting his raw vocal talent. His voice has depth to it, turning this performance, and viewers can tell he feels deep in his soul each word that leaves his lips. Before Wilson comes in for her verse, Jelly Roll gives her the sweetest shoutout.

“I am proud to present iHeartRadio’s winner for the country music song of the year, my sister Lainey Wilson, everybody!”

Wilson steps in and ramps up the performance that was already capturing the hearts of those in the crowd. She takes a more delicate approach to the vocals which really lets you feel the emotion that fills this track. When the two come together to sing, the crowd is swaying and even bringing tears to the eyes of some.

Music is powerful, and these two know that more than most. The way that Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson can seamlessly tackle the upbeat, happy songs and the heartbreaking or growth-filled lyrics is beyond impressive and shows the type of songwriters and performers they are.

They knocked this out of the ballpark.
