George Strait Announces New Bar Coming To Downtown Nashville

“Anotha one.”

These days it seems like pretty much every country artist has to have their own bar in downtown Nashville. Alan Jackson started the trend (and set the bar high) with AJ’s Good Time Bar. But since then, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, John Rich, Miranda Lambert, Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Garth Brooks have all opened their own venues in Music City.

And for the most part, let’s be honest, they all kinda suck.

But there’s one coming that might change that.

George Strait will become the latest artist with their own Nashville bar, announcing that he’ll be opening his own venue, Every Little Honky Tonk Bar, on Broadway later this year.

Named, of course, after his 2019 hit “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar,” Strait says that his bar will be a place for actual country music fans – which will be a nice change from most of the other tourist trap bars in downtown Nashville these days:

“I wanted a place for fans of real country music to be able to hear the classics. Somewhere that still plays Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings, the music that made country great. And nothing goes better with some good country music than some great tequila.

So whether you ‘reside in Tennessee’ or are coming ‘up from San Antone,’ pull up a Chair, come join us for a glass of Codigo 1530 tequila, and stay for the classic country music.”

The new venue will be located at 4269 Broadway, and is a partnership with WR Ventures, a hospitality company based out of Chicago that also operates country bars in Colorado and Wisconsin. And while there aren’t many details on what we can expect from the new bar just yet, one thing’s for sure…

APRIL FOOLS.

Man, I got myself excited writing that one. But unfortunately, King George isn’t planning on opening a bar in Nashville any time soon (at least not that we know of). Which is a shame, because with all of the pop music and ’80s rock that most of the bars on Broadway play these days, a George Strait bar would be a nice escape.

We can only dream, I guess…
