Two of Kentucky’s finest have a new Gold record for the trophy shelf.

Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton’s “We Don’t Fight Anymore” has officially been certified Gold by the RIAA:

The song was written by Carly along with frequent collaborator Shane McAnally and Pete Good, and was also her debut as a co-producer, as it was produced by McAnally, Josh Osborne, and Pearce. The subject matter focuses on the complexities of a relationship and navigating through tough times, and whether you stick it out and stay together or not, how hard and confusing that can be.

Carly says it was of course a “dream come true” to get her fellow Kentuckian Chris to feature on the song, and now I imagine it means that much more considering they have a Gold record together:

“This song embodies a place that I think, if we are honest with ourselves, we’ve all felt at some point in a relationship.

The distance that feels heartbreaking, yet you’re also indifferent. I’ve always been a writer who never wanted to shy away from the ‘uncomfortable’ moments in all of our lives, and this song feels too important not to share.

Having Chris Stapleton join me on this song was a dream come true and he unlocked an element to the story that I didn’t even know it needed.”

The duo performed it together a few months back at the CMA Awards, and it’s Carly’s current single at country radio. As of a couple weeks ago, it was sitting just outside the Top 15 on the Mediabase chart, which is one of two charts labels use to officially track their songs performance (along with the Billboard Country Airplay chart).

It’s had a slow run up the charts thus far, but clearly fans are embracing and enjoying what is a great song by two well-respected and talented artists.

A huge congratulations to Carly and Chris, and here’s to many more Gold records in their future.
