Add another star to the list of those joining onto Taylor Sheridan projects…
Ever since Yellowstone exploded onto the scene and became TV’s most popular show, it’s creator has been one of the hottest directors in the industry.
It seems nearly every day a new series or movie is announced that will be added to the now sprawling list of titles Sheridan is hard at work on, which have included Yellowstone spinoffs 1883 and 1923, as well as other series like Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Special Ops: Lioness, and Tulsa King, all of which are available to stream on Paramount+.
More recently we got news that a series titled Landman was being created, which is based on the podcast Boomtown, and is described in the synopsis as:
“An upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.”
Right off the bat there were a few big names announced for roles in the series, like Billy Bob Thornton, James Jordan, Kayla Wallace, and Demi Moore, but now an even bigger star is joining the cast.
According to Collider, Jon Hamm, the Emmy Award winning actor known for his role as Don Draper in Mad Men, will be playing a Texas oil titan named Monty Miller.
A-List actors, Taylor Sheridan, a dramatic fight over wealth in the Texas oil industry? Sign me the heck up for this one…
The series will stream, as most Sheridan shows do, on Paramount+. If you don’t have a subscription, no worries because you can get a 7 day free trial here, which will give you enough time to browse the catalogue and give a few of these shows a try. Heck, if you binge hard enough you can even get through them all before the trial ends…
I personally can’t wait for Landman to come out, but in the meantime, I’ll be catching up on all the other cinematic gold at our fingertips..
