Jackson Dean has a heck of a voice.
He released a cover of “When a Man Loves a Woman” last week, and it’s an absolutely incredible rendition with a bit of a country twang that I can’t get enough of.
The song was originally written by Calvin Lewis and Andrew Wright, and first recorded by Percy Sledge in 1966 at Norala Sound Studio in Sheffield, Alabama.
It’s been covered by plenty of artists over the years, like John Wesley Ryles and Bette Midler, but was made extremely popular in 1991 by Michael Bolton. His version peaked at #1 on both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and the U.S. Billboard Adult Contemporary Singles chart.
Dean was nominated for New Male Artist Of The Year at the ACM Awards last year, and when you hear him sing, it’s not hard to understand why. His fan-favorite song “Don’t Come Lookin'” was recently certified Platinum by the RIAA.
Do yourself a favor and check it out… you won’t regret it:
