Growing up in the South, I learned from a very young age to be weary of ponds and marshes that could contain alligators. I’ll never forget playing golf down at the beach one time, and I hit a tee shot straight into a pond. I walked up towards the pond to see if I could see the ball, and sure enough an alligator was sitting in the middle of the pond looking straight into my soul.
That’s when I knew a $2 golf ball wasn’t worth losing a limb over…
However, there are tons of people out there who have a lot more guts than me and love hanging out near these bodies of water. Whether it’s fishing or playing golf, swimming or kayaking, and I 100% respect that. Is it for me? Absolutely not, but who am I to judge?
With that being said, this fisherman nearly saw his life flash before his eyes while tarpon fishing in Florida. In the wild video, you can see the fisherman after noticing an alligator swimming directly towards him.
But, the alligator wasn’t willing to give up even though the fisherman was walking away. You can see the gator approach land, and begin to continue to make its way towards the fisherman.
You can hear the guy breathing heavily, and could you blame him? He then falls ass backwards trying to run away, and you can feel the panic set in. He probably had already prepared himself to go to the afterlife.
Luckily, the gator has enough and walks away. Nevertheless, this video could’ve ended much worse.
