Dolly Parton is on a roll with her chart-topping album Rockstar and her recent halftime performance at a Dallas Cowboys game.
You might remember that second part from when your grandpa’s jaw hit the floor on Thanksgiving Day watching Dolly perform. The 77-year-old rocked AT&T Stadium with her performance, and really got a lot of people’s attention with her wardrobe, which was a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader uniform.
I hope to have just half as much confidence in my appearance when I’m in my 70’s. I’ll spare us all the trouble by not saying “imagine your grandmother in a skimpy cheerleading outfit” and just move forward by saying that Dolly Parton has still got it. Her latest endeavors have even caught the eye of a well-known model who has one heck of an idea…
Christie Brinkley, a model, actress, and former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, took to social media to say some kind words about her dear friend Dolly Parton. There have been truly evil people that have come out and say that Parton took it a little too far with her Cowboys cheerleader look, and like most of us, Brinkley wasn’t going to sit idly by and let people talk negatively about the national treasure that is Dolly Parton:
“Whoever had the nerve to suggest that the one, and only Dolly Parton should dress, her age should sit down! You should know you can’t define an icon like Dolly Parton by a number!
Also immeasurable are her too numerous to count talents, her boundless good energy and effervescent humor, and her golden philanthropic heart full of love!”
Yeah, take that Dolly haters.
And Brinkley didn’t stop there. She was so impressed with Parton’s appearance at 77-years-young that she thinks Dolly should double down and pose for Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit edition:
“And the fact that she can also rock a Dallas cheerleader outfit too is inspiring and fun! Oh and not to mention Dolly Parton is also topping Billboards chart this week!
Brava, you go girl! I’ll cut this short like your killer outfit and just say, LOVE YOU DOLLY! Maybe Sports Illustrated Swimsuit is next?”
I’m not going to say what you are thinking…
If you are thinking it wouldn’t be a good thing to do, why don’t you try telling that to Martha Stewart? She starred as a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model earlier this year at the age of 81. Like the old saying goes, age is just a number, and if Dolly Parton decided to take up Brinkley on the offer, I’ve got a feeling that the internet would collapse into itself.
