Kelly Clarkson does not miss.

She’s covered countless country songs on her daytime talk show during the Kellyoke segment, likeWillie Nelson’s “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain”, Travis Tritt’s “Here’s A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)”, Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”, and even Dolly Parton’s “Jolene”.

And yesterday, she sang the heck outta Cody Johnson’s “When It Comes to You,” which was included on his 2021 Human: The Double Album.

Written by Jeremy Bussey and Tony Lane, it find Cody reminiscing on memories with an old flame and some of the memories they shared.

It’s a gorgeous deep cut that was included on the double album, and of course, Kelly put her own spin on it with her stunning vocals that I can’t get enough of.

I don’t know if Kelly would ever really consider fully jumping into the genre in some capacity, even with some sort of covers project, but damn if she wouldn’t be absolutely incredible at it. She’s hinted at it several times of the last couple years, and it definitely needs to happen eventually.

Anywho, she closed out the performance by letting the crowd know how much she loves some CoJo:

“I love that song!”

Am I crazy to think a collab by these two powerhouse vocalists and native Texans would be absolutely epic?

A girl can dream…
